What is maingain? We don't know!
In thousands of comments across YouTube, there are people preaching “Maingaining.”
But nobody explains what EXACTLY maingaining means. Not even Greg Doucette himself. What’s shocking is that this guy has tons of videos explaining other trivial things, but not his signature term, maingaining!?!
The audience itself is divided into two factions based on how they understand it:
a) Some believe it’s just eating at TDEE or maintenance calories while lifting weights.
b) Others believe it’s actually applying a careful small surplus of 100–150 kcal.
Here’s the thing: if it’s a), then it’s simply a body recomp.
If it’s b), then it’s simply a lean bulk.
Why did you have to invent a new term, “maingaining,” and not clarify what exactly it means?
At this point, it seems like nothing more than an influencer rebranding existing concepts under a new term, contributing more confusion than clarity.
