Looking for a Caroline Girvan calorie calculator?

If you follow Caroline Girvan's strength workouts, your daily food target starts with maintenance calories: total daily energy expenditure (TDEE). Eating around maintenance aims to maintain weight; eating below or above it aims for weight loss or gain. The starting estimate needs to be checked against your own intake, weight trend, and training context.

Caroline Girvan's official website links to her free YouTube programs and the CGX app, which offers structured training and educational resources. Use those resources for her own programming. This is an independent guide, not an official Caroline Girvan calculator; MacroCodex is not affiliated with or endorsed by Caroline Girvan or CGX and does not reproduce their programs or nutrition methods.

Calculate a daily calorie target for free

  1. Open MacroCodex and enter your details to get an initial maintenance-calorie estimate.
  2. Choose maintenance, weight loss, or weight gain. The app turns your maintenance estimate into a daily calorie target for that goal.
  3. Record your calorie intake and body weight consistently. MacroCodex updates its maintenance estimate and targets as it learns from your trend.

MacroCodex free app continuously tracks maintenance calories using State Space Neural Network.

Starting a harder lifting block can temporarily change scale weight. Muscle soreness and changes in glycogen and water can make the scale look different without representing the same change in body fat. Avoid cutting food in response to a single higher weigh-in; compare trends across weeks and keep track of training performance and recovery too.

MacroCodex is free and has no ads or subscription. It asks you to enter daily calorie totals; if you want a food diary, you can use a separate logger such as CalorieCodex. A calorie target supports nutrition planning but does not replace a training program.
